Ruth McCurdy
Hi! We are Brenda Harris and Ruth McCurdy - the Managing Partners of Wonderous Woman Enterprises. Eight weeks ago, we found ourselves unexpectedly unemployed! For over 20 years we worked for the same company as President and COO and Vice President, respectively. As with many other companies, our owners decided to merge companies and our exectutive team was dismantled.
Fortunately, we have a shared passion – to help women find balance within their personal and professional lives. We play so many roles as women – wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, professional, etc. and we have developed a Wonder Woman persona. Once we put on our “Wonder Woman Cape” we believe that we should give everything we have to each of these roles. It’s time to take a few minutes for ourselves and realize that who we are is not what we do.
While devasted by the inital blow of losing our cherished positions - positions that we had worked so hard to get, we quickly realized that we were not defined by the executive jobs that we held – and we could take our energy and shift it into making a difference in the lives of other women. This purpose, and our vision, fuel our days with excitement and promise.
It is our hope that we can share inspiration with other women and generate a movement of learning about who we are, uncover our value and create a community of women who support each other on their life journeys.

It is so great to see Ruth and Brenda giving their knowledge and wisdom to other women. I worked for the same company in a role that consumed me. I know now that my life is not defined by what the position I hold. I have had a dream of working from home and building a future for my family. As I found myself unemployed I took this opportunity to sit back and ask myself what was my dreams, what did I really want to do with myself. I put up my awards from Talent Tree on my shelf and decided to searh my soul for what was important to me. I found that I had a dream to learn something new and exciting. I got my license to sell Health and Life and Long Term Care Insurance. I work from home on my own hours and am building a future for my family. As I found my passion for people by really helping them with insuring their families I have begun a new career and I absolutely love it. I walked accross the stage in December for the number one sales person in my class for the whole country on December 14th of this year just 6 months after losing my job. I am enjoying the endless possibilities that choices have given me. I realized that I am not defined by what one person says about me but by what I decide. I can choose to be bittter or get better. I chose to be passionate about other people and I am so very thankful that I now have a lovely office in my new home overlooking my 8 year old our playing in the front yard. I have to say that Brenda and Ruth have been a blessing to me while I was at Talent Tree and now seeing them start this business to help women everywhere realize their potential is such a wonderful surprise.
